Oceanarium Bournemouth hosts a free conservation talk, interactive games, educational stalls and themed storytime sessions during the Bournemouth Pride Festival.
Oceanarium Bournemouth is teaming up with the Bourne Free charity to run a family day of conservation and storytelling at Meyrick Park on Sunday 12 July, as part of the Bournemouth Pride Festival 2026. It's a free event, so it's an easy one to drop into if you're around the park that day.
The main draw is a conservation talk at 12.45pm, which looks at the Oceanarium's global conservation programmes. It features Carrie the Loggerhead Turtle, one of the aquarium's best-known characters, so there's a familiar face to anchor the whole thing. The talk is part of a wider day aimed at families, with the idea of getting kids thinking about environmental protection and animal care.
Beyond the talk, there's plenty to keep smaller ones occupied. There are interactive games and educational stalls to wander through, and a series of themed storytime sessions reading nature-themed books: Jessie the Jellyfish, Mister Seahorse, and The Turtle Who Turned the Tide. Between the games, the stalls, and the stories, it's built as a full afternoon rather than just a single session.
