Black Coast play Bear Cave on Friday 9 October, with De'lour supporting. It's a nu-metal and grunge band from Stoke-on-Trent, and their sound also lands them in the alternative and progressive metal spheres. The line-up is Scott Pinnington, Matthew Clarke, Alex Huzara, Charlie Hewitt and Jack Beardsall.
If you're not familiar with the name, that nu-metal and grunge description gives you a fair idea of where they sit. Nu-metal brings the heavy, syncopated riffs and the rap-influenced vocals of the late nineties; grunge adds the distorted, sludgy guitar work and the angst of the early nineties. When they lean into alternative and progressive metal, the songs tend to open up, with more complex structures and a wider range of dynamics than a straightforward rock set. It's a heavy night, then, but one that pulls from a few different corners of the metal and rock world.

They're supported by De'lour, so there are two acts on the bill. The show is at Bear Cave, the basement room of Bear's Bar & Venue on Holdenhurst Road, which puts it in the BH8 area of Bournemouth.
