Black Water Redemption Album Launch

Black Water Redemption are playing The Bear Cave on Friday 25 September, the Bournemouth date that kicks off their UK headline tour. They're a groove-driven hard rock outfit from right here in the town, and this show is the launch for their self-titled debut album, which comes out on 2 October.

If the name doesn't ring a bell, there's a reason for that. The band re-emerged in 2022 from the ashes of Western Sand, and they've spent the last few years rebuilding from the ground up. A year before this album, they were down to no drummer, no singer, and no clear plan. Since then they've brought in Chris Allen on drums and Adam Chambers on vocals, who replaced the previous frontman. The current line-up is Chambers on vocals, Tyler Hains on guitar, Dan DeVires on bass, and Allen on drums.

Guitarist Tyler Hains says the new direction came when the band found their music landed harder live than on record. That's a good thing to know going into this one, because the debut album pairs heavy riffs and big guitar solos with stripped-back piano and vocal tracks, a rock ballad and bluesy numbers. It's a fair bit of ground to cover in one set, and you'll hear the heavier side of it first hand here.

They've shared stages with Black Star Riders, Michael Schenker, Inglorious and Skid Row, and the Bournemouth show is the first of a wider UK headline tour with dates to follow in Cardiff, Wolverhampton, Manchester and Newcastle. The Bear Cave show starts at 7:30 pm.
