Cheese and wine tasting session on French products held at Loki in the Great Western Arcade.
Loki is hosting the France edition of its World Cheese and Wine Tasting Series on Saturday 23 January 2027, at Loki Great Western Arcade, 101 Edmund Street, B3 2EP. It's part of a wider series that works its way through different countries, and this one puts France at the centre of the table.
If you're not familiar with how these work, the premise is straightforward: you get a selection of French cheeses paired with French wines, and the whole thing is guided. It's less of a formal class and more of a proper tasting session, where you work through the pairings and pick up as you go. The France focus means you'll be tasting through some of the region's most well-known styles, with the cheese and wine chosen to complement each other rather than compete.
It's a good one to bring a friend along to, especially if you're not usually the type to know your way around a cheese board. You don't need to be an expert to get anything out of itβthe whole point is to taste and compare as you go. Since it's part of a series, it's also a decent way to start if you're planning on working your way through the other countries they cover.
