Vaseline - Punk Rock

Vaseline are back at Joe Joe Jims on Saturday 19 December, the first of two nights they're playing as part of a festive residence they've billed as a 'Christmas Spectacular'. They'll be followed by a second date on the 20th, so if you're around that weekend you've got two chances to catch them.

It's a Rubery band playing a Rubery venue, and they've been regulars at Joe Joe Jims for a long time. The line-up is Vaseline with former Birmingham Poet Laureate Spoz on guitar and vocals, alongside Mick, Nige and Rick. Spoz describes the live experience as 'chock full of 70s punk rock nostalgia, jumping about and strange hair cuts', and that's a good summary of what to expect.

They'll play two sets of punk classics, with a few surprises given the Vaseline treatment, cheeky banter, pogoing and the chance to pick up a t-shirt. The whole thing is strictly over-18s, general admission with no assigned seating, and last entry is 10.30pm.

Doors open at 7:00pm and the music starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are £16 online plus fees, or £19 on the door, which is subject to capacity. Joe Joe Jims is in Cofton Hackett, Rubery, Birmingham B45 8UU.
