Weekly rock and alternative night UPRAWR turns The Asylum into a Halloween haunt with skulls, skeletons, a costume competition and a 'Blood Bag' cocktail.
UPRAWR Halloween is back at The Asylum on Saturday 31 October, the Birmingham rock and alternative night celebrating its sixteenth year. It's a big one this time around, with the venue transformed into a nightmare landscape of skulls, skeletons and severed heads. There's a signature 'Blood Bag' cocktail, a photo booth, LED battens and a safe space, and a costume competition that puts the winners up on stage.
The night runs across two rooms, The Halloween Room and The Galloween Room, with a large outdoor courtyard to step out into when you need a breather. It's a long one, too: the main event goes from 10:30pm on Saturday through to 3:00am on Sunday morning, and then there's an after-party in Room 2 that keeps things going until 6:00am. If you're planning on staying for that, you'll be there well into Sunday morning.
One thing to keep in mind is that all online tickets are sold out. There's a very limited allocation of 50 on the door, and they're working on a strictly one in, one out basis, so if you're not in the queue early you might miss out. Standard entry starts from £8.00, with tickets going up to £40. If you're in the mood for more, there's a separate Monster High-themed Halloween ball filling the venue the night before, on Friday 30 October.
