Manchester hip hop production team and live band The Mouse Outfit play Mama Roux's in Deritend, presented by Scruff of the Neck and over 18s only.
The Mouse Outfit play Mama Roux's on Saturday 24 October, presented by Scruff of the Neck. They're a Manchester-based hip hop production team and live band built around producer and DJ Chini, with Metrodome and Pitch 92 among their key members. They specialise in jazz-flavoured boom bap, funk and soul, and their sound takes in reggae, drum and bass and R&B too. Over the years they've collaborated with more than 85 artists, including IAMDDB, Dr Syntax and Sparkz, and their 2016 remix project featured tracks from Mungo's Hi Fi and Tall Black Guy. True to their DIY roots, they're known for independent releases and high-energy festival shows, and they play both as a full live band and as a DJ crew with rappers on the mic.
It's a strictly over-18s night, so keep that in mind if you're bringing a younger mate. Doors open at 19:30, and the set runs from 19:30 to 21:30. Tickets are £18 in advance, and the venue is Mama Roux's at 3 Lower Trinity Street, Deritend, Birmingham B9 4AG.
