The Dirty Old Folkers bring their annual pantomime, a modern and humorous take on Snow White, to the Rock And Roll Brewhouse.
The Dirty Old Folkers are bringing Snow White to the Rock And Roll Brewhouse on Saturday 19 December, their annual pantomime for the Christmas season. It's a retelling of the classic tale, but they're taking a modern, humorous and irreverent approach to it, aimed at a contemporary audience rather than a traditional family crowd.
If you've seen their previous panto runs, you'll know the general shape of things: they take a well-known story and run it through their own particular filter, with the humour coming as much from the way they handle the material as from the script itself. Snow White is this year's choice, and they'll be playing it out on stage at the Brewhouse, which sits at 19 Hall Street in Birmingham, B18 6BS.
It's their annual panto, so it's part of a regular tradition for them, and the irreverent tone they're aiming for suggests it's more of a night out for adults who grew up with the story than a quiet afternoon with the kids. The focus is on the retelling, and they're leaning into the comedy side of things, so it's as much about the jokes and the twists as it is about the plot.
