Free talk marking Talk Money Week on workplace savings and financial wellbeing, with guest speakers from Citysave Credit Union and the University of Birmingham.
Talk Money Week opens in the West Midlands at STEAMhouse on Monday 2 November, with a session called Unlocking the Business Benefits of Workplace Savings. It's hosted by Citysave Credit Union and the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), and it kicks off the campaign's regional activity. The morning is free to attend.
The session focuses on workplace savings, and the framing is something a lot of us recognise: financial stress is described as one of the most significant unaddressed liabilities in the modern workplace, hitting productivity, engagement and mental health. Building emergency savings is presented as a vital national priority, and the work sits alongside the government's Financial Inclusion Strategy. Citysave Credit Union has partnered with the National Coalition for Workplace Savings to help working-age adults across the UK build long-term financial resilience.
Rather than just talking in the abstract, the session draws on proven results already seen across Birmingham and Warwickshire to ask how those models can be scaled nationally. The organisation behind the campaign is FinWELL Workplace Financial Wellbeing, which has spent around five years helping employers identify, measure, reduce and prevent money-related stress at work.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Birmingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
