Full-day conference presented by TACTYC on sustainability in early childhood and care, with keynote speakers Verity Campbell-Barr and John.
Sustainability in Early Childhood and Care is coming to The Studio in Birmingham city centre on Saturday 7 November, a full day devoted to sustainability in early childhood and care. It's presented by TACTYC, and the whole day is built around exploring and discussing the subject from a few different angles.
There are two keynote speakers leading the day. Verity Campbell-Barr is a Professor of Early Childhood Education at the University of Plymouth, and her research looks at the recruitment and retention challenges facing the early years workforce. Beside her is John, President of TACTYC and honorary Professor at the National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, whose work focuses on early childhood education for sustainable citizenship and on greater child participation and agency within inclusive relational pedagogy. Between them, the day covers both the practical side of the workforce and the pedagogical side of how children are taught to engage with the world around them.

The day is aimed at adults, so it's more of a professional and academic gathering than a family event. The Studio is at 7 Cannon Street, B2 5EP, right in the city centre, and there's paid parking available around the venue if you're driving in. It runs from 10 am to 5 pm, and tickets go from £45 to £60 via Eventbrite. If you book and then find you can't make it, refunds are available up to seven days before the event.
