Solo singer and guitarist Steve Linforth plays classics by The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Radiohead, Prince and more on acoustic guitar.
Steve Linforth plays Joe Joe Jims on Sunday 1 November, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. It's an afternoon session, so you'll be out well before the evening kicks in.
Linforth is a singer and guitarist who's spent more than 25 years in countless bands, and he's provided vocal backup for some of the best soul, funk and rock vocalists in the UK. For this set, he strips a wide variety of music down to just solo voice and acoustic guitar. The range he pulls from is broad, and the songs don't all sit in the same neighbourhood: he draws on classics by The Killers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, R.E.M., Radiohead, Damien Rice, Coldplay, Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan, Chic, Human League, Prince, George Michael, Pink Floyd and Smokey Robinson. It's a long list that runs from indie and alternative to soul, funk and pop, all brought back to the same acoustic format.
