Simply Soul New Years Daytime Block Party 2027

Simply Soul are taking over Slug & Lettuce in Brindley Place on Friday 1 January, their New Year's Daytime Block Party. It's a daytime one, running from 3pm to 8pm, so it's more of a long afternoon than a late night — a decent way to ease into the first Friday of the year without staying out until dawn.

The music is the main thing here. Simply Soul describes the set as old skool RnB, Reggae and Afro Beat vibes with a New Skool Twist, so you'll hear the classics alongside newer tracks. It's a mix that spans a fair bit of ground, and because it's a block party, it's built around the dancefloor rather than a seated show. The whole thing is put on by MaggieSortMeOut.

Beyond the music, there's a couple of things to keep in mind. The venue's own signature cocktails will be on the go, and Simply Soul is bringing their own street food menu to the afternoon, so you can eat and drink in the same place. If you're planning to make a day of it, the 3pm start gives you plenty of time to get settled before the evening rolls around.
