RnB Winter Ball

Jagged Edge, B2K and SWV are all on the same bill at bp pulse LIVE on Thursday 10 December, part of the RnB Winter Ball. It's also billed as the RnB Xmas Ball, and it's returning to Birmingham as a night of throwback anthems, singalong moments and nothing but RnB classics.

Having three names like that on one stage is the whole point of the evening. Jagged Edge, B2K and SWV each come from a different corner of the era, so the setlist pulls from across the board rather than sticking to one sound. You've got the harmonies of Jagged Edge, the boy-band energy of B2K and the smooth, polished R&B of SWV, all in one night. The organisers describe it as a night of throwback anthems and singalong moments, and that's a fair summary of what you're getting: the songs you know and the ones you'll be singing along to, rather than a showcase of new material.

It's a big night for the city's R&B crowd, with three acts that defined the sound of their time sharing a single stage. If you've spent years listening to these records on your own, this is one of those rare chances to hear them played live and back-to-back. The focus is squarely on the classics, so it's a night built around the songs you already know.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the show starts at 7:00 PM, so you've got plenty of time to get in and settle before things kick off. Tickets start from £50 plus fees, and with the date falling on a Thursday in mid-December, it's one of those nights that works as a proper outing before the Christmas rush really takes hold.
