An over-30s disco night featuring classic dancefloor anthems and old-skool favourites from the 1970s to the early 2000s.
Old Skool Social returns to Longbridge Social Club on Friday 23 October, another night of dancefloor classics for the over-30s crowd. It's a disco night that trades in the anthems and old-skool favourites you've likely spent years dancing to, with a repertoire that runs from the 1970s right through to the early 2000s.
Across those decades, the set pulls from disco, soul, dance, R&B and club classics. It's a broad reach, so you'll hear the 70s disco and soul that started it all, the 80s dancefloor fillers, the 90s club hits, and the early 2000s tracks that rounded out the era. It's built for an older crowd rather than a younger one, and the music is just one part of it — the fully stocked bar and a friendly atmosphere are as much a draw as the records themselves.
If you're over 30 and fancy a night out with music from the decades you grew up with, this is exactly that. It's less about a specific scene and more about the broad stretch of dancefloor favourites from the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s, all in one room. The night is run for people who'd rather spend their evening with their own age group than in a club geared towards a younger crowd.
