Live Stand Up Comedy Gong Show with Third Eye

Third Eye Comedy are running their stand-up gong show at The White Lion on Tuesday 8 December. It's a regular night for them, with doors opening at 7:20pm and things usually wrapping up around 9:00pm.

If you've never been to a gong show, the format is pretty straightforward: anyone can take the mic and they get two minutes to make the audience laugh. If they're funny, they stay on; if they aren't, they get the gong. The night pairs special guests from the comedy circuit with fresh new voices, and it leans on audience participation for a high-energy show that's filmed for YouTube. It's as much about the room as it is about the people on stage.

The White Lion is at 93 Hill Village Road in Sutton Coldfield, B75 5HL. The pub opens from midday, and there's a networking group running in another room from 5:30pm to 7:00pm with unlimited canapes, so you can easily make an evening of it and arrive early. The night is for ages 16 and over, and there's free parking on site.

Tickets are £9.00 general admission, and every ticket includes £5 off your food and drink bill, so it's a good shout if you're planning on eating or drinking while you're there. Refunds are available up to seven days before the show.
