Halloween pop-punk cabaret, a holiday special of the monthly queer night Let Them Eat Cake, with drag, burlesque and live music.
Let Them Eat Cake returns to The Night Owl on Sunday 25 October with a Halloween special called Let Them Smash Pumpkins. It's a pop-punk edition of the monthly cabaret, which runs every last Sunday of the month and is hosted by Cake Boi, who describes himself as the show's chief clown. He calls the night a 'queer church' dedicated to musical legends, with the audience invited to raise a glass to the Madonnas, Chers and Beyonces of our time through drag, burlesque, live bands and spoken word.
This particular special turns the formula pop-punk, drawing on the tastes of fans of My Chemical Romance, Paramore and Evanescence. It's a Halloween cabaret with drag, chaos and prizes. The line-up is headed by Black Peppa, a RuPaul's Drag Race alumni and finalist, and drag-punk OGs Two Thousand and Late, who'll be playing an exclusive set of emo classics. The night continues with Sloppy Seconds, led by Chipped Polish.
