All-request line dancing social with a resident DJ and a 'Mini Stomp' line dance competition at Low Places Digbeth, over 18s only.
Honkytonk Highway brings its line dancing social to Low Places Digbeth on Saturday 24 October, with the dancefloor opening at 7.00pm and a hosted social running from 7.00pm to 11.30pm. After that, the dancefloor stays open late, so you can keep going well past the hosted part of the night. It's an all-request evening, meaning the music comes from what the room wants to dance to rather than a set list.
Low Places Digbeth is a venue the organisers call 'Birmingham's hottest new dive bar', and they've gone for a US bar-style line-dancing vibe here, complete with neon lights. The hosted social is the main event, but once it wraps at 11.30pm, a resident DJ takes over to keep the floor moving. It's billed as a party for dancers of any level, and it does away with formal teaching — there are no lessons to sit through, just dancing from the start.
One thing that sets it apart is the 'Mini Stomp', a condensed, low-pressure line dance competition that pauses the dancefloor for two songs. It's not a full-blown contest, just a short break in the night, with awards presented around 10.00pm. If you're more of a watcher than a dancer, you can still come along: spectators get free entry to the bar without a wristband, so you can grab a drink and watch the room without needing to step out onto the floor yourself.

On the practical side, dancefloor wristbands are £7 plus booking fee via Skiddle, and if you want to enter the Mini Stomp, there's a £5 entry fee paid on the night. The whole thing is strictly over-18s, so children and babies aren't permitted. For those who've already got their steps down and are looking for something a bit more advanced, the organisers point experienced dancers toward 'STOMP IT OUT 2', which runs at the same venue in January 2027.
