Guided wine flight of four wines from The Anchor Digbeth's menu paired with a Standard Dairy or vegan artisan cheese board.
The Anchor Digbeth is hosting a guided wine tasting and cheese board evening on Tuesday 27 October, starting at 19:00. It's part of the pub's first anniversary week, marking a year since it reopened at 308 Bradford Street in Digbeth.
The evening centres on a guided wine flight of four wines from the venue's revamped wine menu: Taittinger Nocturne Champagne, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Reserva Rioja. You'll pair them with your choice of either a standard dairy or a vegan artisan cheese board, and the vegan option is billed as Digbeth's first dedicated vegan cheese board. The whole thing takes place inside the pub's cosy Victorian surroundings.
It's one of several things happening that week to mark the anniversary. There's a talk by Professor Carl Chinn MBE, a weekly traditional Irish music session launched with the Irish cultural organisation Comhaltas, a classic pen-and-paper pub quiz, and a special-edition 'cheese and onion bhaji' crusty cob made with local Balti restaurant Shabab's. If you're around for more than one night, there's plenty to pick from across the week.
