Funny Beeseness: Emmanuel Sonubi

Emmanuel Sonubi brings his stand-up show Funny Beeseness to The Castle And Falcon on Thursday 22 October, with the night starting at 18:30. He's a double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, recognised as Best Newcomer in 2022 and Best Show in 2023, and he's built a following as one of the leading voices in contemporary stand-up. Romesh Ranganathan called him 'incredibly likeable'.

Sonubi's a familiar face on television, too. He headlined Live At The Apollo in 2022 and returned to host the show in 2024, and he's appeared on QI, Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You and Richard Osman's House of Games. The Birmingham date is part of his Funny Beeseness run, so if you've followed his work from the Edinburgh Fringe or the TV appearances, this is a chance to catch him live on stage.

He's not the only one on the bill. The support comes from Ali Woods, who won Hackney Empire New Act of the Year in 2020 and is a regular on BBC Radio 4, Talksport and TalkRadio, and Simon Emanuel, a previous winner of the Welsh Unsigned Stand Up of the Year Award and co-host of the podcast The Problematic Pub. Guest MC Samantha Day will be running the evening, so there are three acts on the bill before Sonubi takes the main slot.

Tickets started from £20.00, though the show is now sold out. The venue is The Castle And Falcon, 402 Moseley Road, Birmingham, B12 9AT, and the night kicks off at 18:30.
