Blues rock tribute to Free and Bad Company fronted by Paul Bridgewater at the Lickey Hills venue Joe Joe Jims, 18 and over.
Free at Last are playing Joe Joe Jims on Friday 30 October, with blues rock vocalist Paul Bridgewater fronting the band. They're a tribute to Free and Bad Company, and they've been on the road since 1996, which is a fair few years of playing these two bands back-to-back. The set is built around the classics both groups are known for, so you'll hear 'All Right Now', 'Wishing Well', 'Little Bit Of Love', 'Can't Get Enough', 'Feel Like Making Love' and 'Shooting Star', with a handful of the lesser-known gems tucked in alongside.
They describe their sound as 70s-style, red-hot, blues-influenced rock, and that's a good summary of what you're getting. Free and Bad Company shared a similar lineage — both built on that heavy, bluesy groove and a strong lead vocal — so the two sets sit naturally together. Bridgewater takes the lead on both, and the band works through the songs from both catalogues in one night.
