Free Latin night with a salsa taster workshop and a live show by the seven-piece salsa band Del Camino.
Del Camino are playing The Jam House on Tuesday 29 December, and it's a full Latin night rather than just a gig. The seven-piece salsa band is the main draw, and they're billed as a hot Latin outfit with a repertoire that runs from bolero to mambo. They'll be joined by Mauricio Reyes and his team of LatinMotion DJs, who keep the floor going with a mix of salsa, merengue, bachata, cha-cha-cha and reggaeton. There are dancers in the mix too, so it's a night built for dancing as much as for listening.
If you're not already comfortable on the dancefloor, there's a salsa taster workshop from 9:15pm, which runs before the band takes over. It's a good way to get your bearings before the live set kicks off after 10:00pm. The whole thing is held at The Jam House in the Jewellery Quarter, a live music venue set in a Georgian building overlooking St Paul's Square that's been a spot for entertainment, food and nights out since 1999. If you're fancying a proper evening of it, there's a dinner-and-show ticket available in the venue's restaurant.
