Cinderella mini panto

Joking Joe is bringing a mini panto of Cinderella to Dockworks Waterfront on Saturday 28 November, and it's a one-day thing rather than a full run. If you're used to the big Christmas pantomimes that take over theatres for weeks on end, this is a bit of a different beast: it's a condensed, unconventional take on the story that fits into a single afternoon.

That's the main thing to get your head around before you book. Instead of the usual long run, this is a one-off performance, so it's more of a standalone event than a seasonal fixture. It's the classic Cinderella story we all know, just stripped back and told in a way that doesn't need a whole theatre season to get through.

It's presented by Joking Joe, and it runs for two hours, which is a good length for a family afternoon out without it dragging on into the evening. If you've got kids, it's a manageable window that doesn't eat up the whole day, and since it's a one-day event, it's something you can slot in on a Saturday without having to commit to a whole run of dates.

It's on at Dockworks Waterfront, Dudley Court South, Brierley Hill, DY5 1XJ, in Birmingham, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Tickets start from £8.00 and are available through Skiddle.
