Christmas stand-up comedy shows with four comedians each night, served with a festive menu at The Glee Club.
The Glee Club is running a long stretch of Christmas comedy specials on Hurst Street this December, with dates starting on 2 December and running right through to New Year's Eve. The format for the evening shows is the same across the run: four stand-up comedians on the bill, paired with a festive menu of one, two or three courses, with vegan and gluten-free options available, and an after-party when the room settles. It's a proper night out rather than just a quick set, so you can build the evening around the food as much as the comedy.
Some of the line-ups are already set. On Thursday 3 December, it's Paul Thorne, Dana Alexander, Dave Longley and Vlad Ilich. Thursday 10 December brings Brennan Reece, Harriet Dyer, Garrett Millerick and Andy Robinson, and Wednesday 16 December features Kate Barron, Lindsey Santoro, Andrew Bird and Phil Nichol. There are other dates throughout the month too, including Friday 4, Saturday 5 (with an early show at 2:45pm), Wednesday 9, Friday 18, Saturday 19, Monday 21, Wednesday 23, Sunday 27, Monday 28 and Thursday 31.
Two nights stand apart from the rest. Tuesday 22 December is a mailing-list exclusive curated and hosted by Joe Lycett, with all proceeds going to Crisis, the local charity fighting homelessness. The lunchtime family shows on Sunday 20 and Monday 28 December are billed for kids, grannies and all, best for ages 7+. The NYE show on Thursday 31 December is 18+.
