Run of Christmas comedy shows at The Glee Club, with evening bills and lunchtime family shows, including 'Crisis at Christmas' hosted by Joe Lycett.
The Glee Club is running a full stretch of Christmas comedy specials in Birmingham this December, with the first one kicking off on Wednesday 2 December. It's a long run that carries right through to New Year's Eve, so there's plenty of choice if you're looking for a night out during the festive break.
Most of the nights are straight evening bills, but there are a couple of lunchtime family shows in the mix for kids and grannies alike: Sunday 20 December and Monday 28 December, both for ages 5 and up. The run closes with a New Year's Eve comedy night on Thursday 31 December, which is 18+.
Several of the evening line-ups are already set. Thursday 3 December brings Paul Thorne, Dana Alexander, Dave Longley and Vlad Ilich. Thursday 10 December has Brennan Reece, Harriet Dyer, Lewis Garnham and Andy Robinson. Wednesday 16 December features Kate Barron, Lindsey Santoro, Andrew Bird and Phil Nichol. The 2 December opener is still to be announced, and there are other dates throughout the monthโthe 4th, 5th, 9th, 19th, 21st and 23rdโthat don't have their bills listed yet.

One night stands out from the rest: Tuesday 22 December is Crisis at Christmas, a mailing-list exclusive hosted by Joe Lycett, with all proceeds going to Crisis, the local charity fighting homelessness. It's 16+ and runs as part of the wider run.
If you're making a proper evening of it, there's a festive menu with one, two or three courses, including vegan and gluten-free options, and an after party follows the evening bills. The Glee Club has been running its venues for over 20 years, and this Christmas run takes you from the first week of December all the way to New Year's Eve.
