Free, over-18s networking event for artists, students and makers to share work, ideas and explore collaborations in the Jewellery Quarter.
Brum Radicals is back at Craft & Culture on Thursday 26 November, from 6:00pm for three hours. It's a relaxed networking event for Birmingham's creative community, and it's free to attend.
The whole thing is built around the idea of making together. It takes its cue from places like the Red House and Kelmscott Manor, which became living experiments in the Arts & Crafts ideals of beauty, craftsmanship and communal creativity. The session is open to artists, students, makers and anyone curious about the local scene, with the point being to meet, share ideas and explore collaborations in a supportive environment where creativity is communal rather than competitive.
There's a practical side to how it works: attendees can present their work or process as a slide-based presentation, a bit like a pop-up show, and the group makes something together. It's as much about showing what you're up to as it is about working with other people in the room.
