Halloween-themed line-dancing night with a beginner-friendly class, live country music from Charlotte Young and social dancing at Low Places Bar.
Low Places Bar is hosting the Boot Scootin' Halloween Hoedown on Friday 30 October, a Halloween-themed line-dancing night in Digbeth. The evening starts with a beginner-friendly line-dancing class built around Halloween-inspired song swaps, and the organisers make it clear that you don't need a partner or any prior experience to join in. Fancy dress is encouraged, with a best-dressed prize and spooky surprises on the night.
After the class, the live music takes over with Charlotte Young playing country, followed by social dancing and partying well into the early hours. The whole thing runs from 7:15pm on Friday and goes until late, stretching into Saturday 31 October. If you're not feeling the dancing part, you can still come along for the music and the atmosphere.
Low Places Bar itself is a proper American-style dive bar and honky-tonk, and it keeps the theme going with pizza and American-import drinks on the go. It's at 60-64 Heath Mill Lane, Deritend, B9 4AR. Between the line dancing, the live country, and the dive bar setting, it's a fair bit more than your usual Friday night in the city.
