Free talk by Ahmed Hraichie, 'The Muslim Undertaker', about death, burial and the first night in the grave, with a live shrouding demonstration.
The Muslim Undertaker is coming to The Badshah Palace in Birmingham on Saturday 21 November, with his session The Grave: Your First Night Alone running from 1pm to 4pm. The man behind the name is Ahmed Hraichie, a world-renowned figure who has spent years washing, shrouding and burying the dead. It's a rare thing to hear from someone who's spent so much time with the dead, and that's exactly where this session starts.
He takes you through the reality that awaits everyone: what happens from our final moments to the grave, the practice of ghusl, kafan, janazah and burial, and what the Qur'an and Sunnah say about our first night in the grave. He draws on his own experience handling the dead to walk you through it, and there's a live demonstration of shrouding the deceased on the day for educational purposes, so you'll see the process as well as hear about it.
The Birmingham date is part of a wider tour across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, with ten sessions running between 20 and 28 November 2026. This one is organised by Al Buruj Press.
