Free graduate careers event where female STEM students and recent graduates meet employers from science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
STEM Women are bringing their graduate careers event to Edgbaston Stadium on Monday 19 October, from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. It's a dedicated afternoon for women in STEM — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — to meet employers from across those fields in one room.
The format is straightforward: companies set up stands to promote their graduate roles, internships and placements, and you spend the session networking with them. It's less about formal interviews and more about having a proper chat with the people who actually work there, so you can get a feel for the roles and the companies before you commit to an application.
STEM Women have been running these events in Birmingham since 2018, bringing together female STEM students and recent graduates with employers across the four disciplines. The sessions are aimed at women and non-binary students who are permanently eligible to work in the UK, as most of the exhibitors can't support applicants who need visa sponsorship. If you're still in school or college and looking to start a STEM career, the organisation also runs apprenticeship events across the UK and Ireland.
