Bianca Del Rio, the RuPaul's Drag Race winner known as the 'Clown in a Gown', performs her seventh solo stand-up tour, 'It Gets Bitter', a celebration of 30 years of professional drag excellence.
Bianca Del Rio plays The Alexandra on Thursday 1 April 2027, as part of her seventh solo stand-up tour, It Gets Bitter. It's a world comedy tour, and the Birmingham date is one of the stops on the road.
If you're not familiar with her, Del Rio is the RuPaul's Drag Race winner who's earned the nickname 'Clown in a Gown'. She's a professional drag performer and a comedy icon, and this tour is billed as a celebration of 30 years of professional drag excellence. The title It Gets Bitter gives you a fair idea of the tone she's going for.
What she's most famous for is how she handles the room. She treats the front row like a firing squad, leaning on biting insults and lightning-fast wit to carry the show. If you're sitting close to the stage, you're practically part of the act, and the whole thing is built around that kind of sharp, improvised interaction. It's less about a set of rehearsed jokes and more about her working the crowd in real time.
