Free drop-in networking and gathering session with a DJ set to round off the first day of the BEDLAM Arts & Mental Health Symposium.
Bedlam 2026 is hosting a networking and gathering session at MAC Birmingham on Friday 6 November, from 7:00pm. It's a free, drop-in evening with a DJ set, and it rounds off the first day of the BEDLAM Arts & Mental Health Symposium, which runs across Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November.
The symposium itself spends those two days looking at the relationship between arts, creativity, mental health and wellbeing. This particular session is the social end to day one, so it's more about meeting people and chatting than sitting through a programme. The DJ set runs alongside it, keeping things moving while you mingle.
BEDLAM is the Arts & Mental Health Partnership, which brings together artists, practitioners, communities and mental health professionals. It's run as a partnership between Sampad, Birmingham Rep and MAC, so it's a proper cross-city collaboration. The 2026 edition focuses on artist wellbeing, and the symposium continues on the Saturday with a facilitated discussion and Q&A called 'Can We Talk?', which looks at the relationship between young people, artificial intelligence and mental health.

If you're into the arts scene here and want to meet people working across these areas, this is a good way in. It's at the KILN Café inside MAC, it starts at 7:00pm and runs for two hours, and it's free to drop in.
