A 70s prom night inspired by the 50th anniversary of the horror classic 'Carrie', with live psychobilly and garage bands, DJs and cocktails.
The Night Owl is hosting a 70s prom night on Saturday 23 October, a few days before Halloween. It's a themed evening inspired by the 50th anniversary of the horror classic Carrie, and the night is billed as a gathering of creatures, creeps and rock 'n' roll reprobates from across the scene. The whole thing runs on the venue's psychobilly, bluesabilly, garage punk and trashy rock 'n' roll following, so it's a night for that crowd rather than a general dance floor.
There's a live bill to get through: Thee Scarecrows, The McCurdy Brothers, and Kings of Hong Kong. The night also marks Kings of Hong Kong's 10th anniversary of Rock 'n' Rolla, and the bill leans into the venue's psychobilly and garage punk roots. Thee Scarecrows close the night; they're a psychobilly act known for their twin-drummer assault and masked harvest nightmare. Between the live sets, RIP It Up! DJs will be spinning psychobilly, garage, punk, trash and rock 'n' roll throughout the night.
