Sensory-friendly version of the Titanic Experience with reduced sound and lighting, a self-guided route and ear defenders on request for neurodivergent visitors.
Titanic Belfast is running Quiet Sessions, a sensory-friendly version of the Titanic Experience. It's built for neurodivergent visitors and anyone with sensory sensitivities who prefers reduced noise, softer lighting and a gentler pace. The attraction itself sits in the Titanic Quarter on the site of the former Harland and Wolff shipyard and opened on 31 March 2012.
During these sessions, sound and lighting levels are turned down. You follow a themed one-way route from boomtown Belfast and the shipyard through the launch, the fitting out and the maiden voyage, on to the sinking, the aftermath and the quest to find the ship and her final resting place, with a collection of unique Titanic artefacts along the way. There's a Quiet area available for breaks, ear defenders are provided on request and the tour is self-guided. Admission includes access to SS Nomadic, though the ship itself isn't adapted for Quiet Sessions and is visited separately.
