Country Fried Dance brings the Y'allternative Dance Party: Emo/Punk Line Dancing to Elysium on Thursday, July 30, and the whole thing is built around a pretty specific premise: your favorite emo and punk songs from the 2000s reworked into country line dances. It's an 18+ night, and the organizers bill it for "the Queers, Allies & Misfits," with a queer-friendly atmosphere and an LGBTQ+ tag.
If you've never done line dancing, the setup is designed to get you on the floor regardless of where you're starting from. Nico of Country Fried Dance recaps the dances throughout the night, and the floor stays full from doors open until close. The choreography runs from absolute beginner to high improver, so there's a range to work through.
