Weekly Book Swap in the Park

Meanwhile Brewing Company is running its Weekly Book Swap in the Park every Friday from 5 to 7 PM through the summer, from June 5 to August 14. The premise is simple: bring a book you're done with and trade it for something new. It's a free event, so you just show up with your reading material and leave with a different title.

They've set it up with separate swap areas for kids and adults, which makes it easy to bring the whole family along—the little ones can trade their picture books while the adults handle the novels. Every time you stop by, you get a stamp on a book swap card. Once you hit five stamps, you can trade them in for prizes starting September 6 at the brewery's annual book festival, Lagers & Literature.

Alongside the swap, the venue is running a summer book donation drive. Any books you're happy to part with go to Inside Books Project, which distributes them to incarcerated Texans. So if you have a stack of reads you're not quite ready to swap but are happy to give away, this is a good place to drop them off.
