Pre-game tailgate party with live music, live game viewing, lawn games and bar on the Meredith Heritage Tree Deck.
Waterloo Gameday brings the Texas Longhorns vs. Florida Gators game to Waterloo Park on Saturday, October 17, from 8 AM to 12 PM. It's a pre-game tailgate held under the trees at the Meredith Heritage Tree Deck, right in the heart of downtown Austin. The morning is built around the game: a live broadcast of the Longhorns taking on the Gators, a full bar with happy hour pricing, live music, and lawn games to keep things moving between plays.
If you get there early, you're entered into a raffle for Moody Amphitheater concert tickets and Waterloo Greenway merchandise. The whole thing is free, thanks to community sponsors, so you can just show up and hang out. There's also a $25 pre-sale ticket that gets you two bar drinks, coffee, and breakfastβa good call if you're planning to make this your game-day headquarters.
The location itself is worth a bit of context. Waterloo Park sits in downtown Austin and is home to The Confluence, the largest downtown tree canopy project in the city's history, with thousands of native Texas trees. The park's southern stretch runs along Waterloo Greenway, following Waller Creek, where you'll find the Creek Show light-based art installations. The Gameday takes place under that canopy at the Meredith Heritage Tree Deck, so you're watching the game in the shade of those same native trees.
