Mix Master Mike, Rahzel, JS-1, and Henry Invisible are taking over Regal Rooms on Thursday, August 20. It's a heavy-hitting lineup of four DJs on one bill, and it's part of the Hip-Hop Legends series that Regal Rooms has been running, a program built around underground hip-hop and turntablism. If you've been following that series, you know the focus is on the art of the decks rather than a headliner with a few openers.
Seeing these four on the same stage is the whole point. Mix Master Mike is one of the most recognized names in turntablism, and Rahzel is just as famous for his beatboxing and scratching. JS-1 and Henry Invisible round out the group, and having them all in one room means the night is about the turntables as the lead instrument. It's a DJ set, not a concert with a band, so the focus stays on the mixing and the scratching.
