A public community night with live music, a DJ, and an art exhibit spanning three floors of The Cathedral.
Un Dia is taking over The Cathedral on Sunday, November 1, for a public community night that puts live music and art in the same room. It's hosted by DNS Live Music Promotions and presented by Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment, and the whole thing is built around bringing people together for a night of celebration.
There's a good amount to do once you're inside. The music side of the night features live performances and a DJ, and the art side is an exhibit that spans three floors of the venue. Since the music and the art are happening at the same time, you can drift between the two—catch a set, walk through the gallery, and head back to the music when you're ready. The three floors of art mean there's plenty to see even if you're not there for the music, and the live acts give you a reason to stick around long after you've finished looking at the walls.
The Cathedral itself is a restored 1930s church that now works as a boutique art gallery, so the space has a particular character to it. The high ceilings and the original church architecture set a different tone than your usual Austin club or gallery, and having the exhibit spread across three floors gives the whole night some room to breathe. It's the kind of place where you can spend a few hours without feeling like you've seen everything in twenty minutes.

It runs from 6 PM to 9 PM, so it's a Sunday evening thing rather than a late-night one. Tickets are $10, and with the live music, the DJ, and the three-floor exhibit all under one roof, there's enough going on to make it a full night out.
