Annual New Year's Eve celebration with local food and beverage vendors, live music and a midnight fireworks display.
Austin's New Year returns to Auditorium Shores on Wednesday, December 31, from 7 PM to 12:30 AM. It's the city's largest New Year's Eve celebration, put on by the City of Austin and Visit Austin right on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, with the skyline as the backdrop. The night is built around live music, local food and drink vendors, and a fireworks display that rings in the new year at midnight.
Because Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World, the city usually pairs a national headliner with a supporting cast of local artists. The music runs throughout the evening, so you can arrive early and hang out long before the clock strikes twelve. Between sets, there are local food and beverage vendors on site, so you can eat and drink without leaving the park. The whole thing is family-friendly, though pets aren't allowed unless they're trained service animals.
