Concert by singer-songwriter Annie Davis and her band Trashy Annie at the exclusive club The Pershing in Austin.
Trashy Annie plays The Pershing on Tuesday, September 22. It's a full day of music and food, with check-in from 4 to 5 PM, the show running from 5 to 7 PM, and a VIP dinner following from 7:30 to 10 PM. The venue is at 2415 E 5th St in Austin.
Annie Davis fronts the band, and she's a trumpet player turned award-winning singer-songwriter who took home CMA of Texas Artist of the Year in 2023. She crashed onto the Austin scene in 2021 after teaching herself guitar in 2020 and stepping up to her first open mic early that same year. She spent the pandemic writing and producing, signed to Cleopatra Records in late 2022, and released her debut album, Sticks and Stones, in May 2023. The band describes its sound as "rock 'n' roll with a country soul."
There's a story behind the name, too. Davis decided to embrace being called "trashy" after critics took aim at her clothes, and she turned the label into the band's identity. The Pershing is billed as one of Austin's most exclusive members-only clubs, and it's opening its doors for the VIP dinner that night. The whole evening is open to all ages and fitness levels.
