Paramount Summer Classic Film Series double feature with The Worst Person in the World and Pillion.
The State Theatre is pairing The Worst Person in the World and Pillion as a double feature on Wednesday, August 19, part of the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series. It's one of those nights where you get two full movies for a single ticket, and they're back-to-back on the same screen.
The first half is The Worst Person in the World, the 2021 film from Norwegian director Joachim Trier. It runs 128 minutes and follows a young woman named Julie through four years of her life as she navigates her love life and her career. It's a character study that takes its time with her, and it's the one that's already made a name for itself.
Then comes Pillion, the feature debut of writer/director Harry Lighton. It's a bit shorter at 106 minutes and tells a different kind of story: a timid man gets swept off his feet by an enigmatic, handsome biker.
