The Western Express are playing The Continental Club on Monday, August 17, starting at 10 PM. They're an Austin country band that plays original songs and classics across Texas, and they describe their sound as drawing on the desert, the dance hall, love, loss, and disco.
They've spent the last few years building an audience in Texas dance halls while working their debut album, Lunatics, Lovers & Poets, into Texas and Americana radio. The first two singles from that record both broke the top 30 on Texas radio, so if you've been hearing them on the air, this is a chance to catch them live in the city.
2025 was a busy year for them. They played the Houston and Austin Rodeos for the fourth straight year, hosted parties headlined by Summer Dean and Emily Nenni, and recorded their second full-length album, Icarus, which was slated for release later that year. Between the rodeo dates and the new recording, they've stayed active on the Texas circuit.
