The Western Express play The Continental Club on Monday, August 10, at 10 PM. They're an Austin country band, and the set will be a mix of their own songs and the classics they've been playing across Texas.
They describe their sound as drawing on the desert, the dance hall, love, loss and disco. It's a broad reach for a country band, and that range shows up in where they've been playing. In 2025, they played both the Houston and Austin Rodeos for the fourth year running, and they hosted parties headlined by Summer Dean and Emily Nenni. That same year they recorded their second full-length album, Icarus, which was slated for release later that year.
Over the last few years, the band has focused on building an audience in Texas dance halls while promoting their debut album, Lunatics, Lovers & Poets, to Texas and Americana radio. Their first two Texas Radio singles broke the top 30, so if you've been hearing them on the air, this is a chance to catch them live.
