Daniel and Jenna Watters are from Sedona, Texas, and they've spent years living in a handful of very different cities—Los Angeles, Denver, Nashville, and Austin among them. That's where they built the sound they're known for: a blend of Americana, soul, rock, and jazz. People have described them as "Fleetwood Mac with a horn section," which gives you a good sense of the melodic, full-band feel they bring to the stage.
They've been working together for a while, with seven albums under various monikers. In 2016, they released their debut record, GREAT UNKNOWN, as The Watters, and since then they've built a following around energetic live performances, stirring vocals, and the kind of musicianship that comes from a lot of time on the road. If you've never seen them, that's the best way to get a handle on what they do—the blend of styles comes through much clearer in a live set than on a record.

The venue is The Continental Club, 1315 S. Congress. It opened in 1957 and was taken over thirty years later by Steve Wertheimer, who turned it into a home for touring and local Americana, rockabilly, and swing. It's won the Best of Austin Readers Poll for Intimate Live Music Venue in 2023, 2021, 2019, and 2017. The show starts at 6:30 PM; no cover, 21+.
