A magic show featuring mentalism and illusions performed by the veteran magician Magical Mystical Michael.
The VORTEX presents Magical Mind Mysteries on Wednesday, September 30, with Magical Mystical Michael taking the stage. It's a magic show for grown-ups, though Michael is quick to point out there's nothing offensive for children in it—just that the concepts and theories he digs into might get deeply absurd.
Michael has been performing for close to 50 years, and he doesn't describe himself as your typical magician. He pairs wit and charm with a 'sleight' attitude and an elusive logic that he says creates magic of the mind, eyes, and hands. Most of the show is totally original, and he put it together during the 2020 shutdown, so it's a piece of work that came out of a very specific time.

If you're wondering what to expect, the 'grown-ups' label is more about the tone than the content. It's a show that leans into the absurd rather than the family-friendly, so it's probably best suited for an audience that doesn't mind things getting a little strange. The performance runs from 7 PM to 8 PM at The VORTEX, 2307 Manor Rd #2135, and tickets are $15.
