A 30th anniversary concert celebrating the music of Hey Arnold! with Jim Lang and The PS 118 AllStars, featuring special guest Craig Bartlett.
Jim Lang and The PS 118 AllStars are bringing The Music of Hey Arnold! Live! to ACL Live at The Moody Theater on Wednesday, November 18, at 8 PM. It's a 30th anniversary concert for the animated series Hey Arnold!, and the whole night is built around the music that ran through the show.
Jim Lang is the one leading it. He's the award-winning composer behind the series' theme, its original songs, and the score. If you remember the sound of the show, that's his work: he blended jazz, hip hop, blues, R&B, and funk to give the series its heart, warmth, humor, and soul. The concert runs through the show's themes and fan-favorite songs, and the music is paired with multimedia visuals and behind-the-scenes stories from along the way. The night wraps up with a special guest appearance by the series creator himself, Craig Bartlett.
It's a specific kind of nostalgia, but the music stands on its own. The show's soundtrack was a big part of its identity, and this brings those jazz and groove elements to a live stage. If you grew up with the series, you'll recognize the themes; if you didn't, it's still a night of jazz and funk played by the man who wrote it.
