A spooky, seductive burlesque show with Halloween costumes for guests 21 and up, featuring The Jigglewatts and special guest Sodi Moore.
The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue returns to the 29th Street Ballroom on Saturday, October 3, with a Halloween-themed show called The Bewitching Hour. It's a 21-and-up night, and they're encouraging guests to come in costume, so it's an easy way to get your October on a few days early.
The Jigglewatts bill themselves as the longest continuously running burlesque show in the U.S., a slice of classic weird Austin. Their residency at the ballroom pairs world-class burlesque with live music, comedy, drag and variety in a cabaret setting of floor-to-ceiling velvet curtains and an artfully appointed stage. The room itself is run by the team behind Hotel Vegas, Kinda Tropical, Tweedy's, Little Darlin', CHESS CLUB, Yellow Jacket Social Club and Resound Presents, and bills itself as "your second living room" — solid hangs, loud music, cold drinks and warm food, a place for everyone.
For this show, the lineup features the Jigglewatts regulars — Something Blue, Selma Bawdy, Ruby Joule, Ruby Lamb and Jolie Goodnight — plus special guest Sodi Moore coming in from Dallas. Critics have called the troupe "Austin's finest burlesque sensations" and the show "a racy show that's not to be missed."
