The Arboretum Food and Artisan Market is back this Saturday, August 8, at The Arboretum in North Austin. It's part of Penny V Productions, a group of local outdoor food and art markets that showcase farmers, bakers and artisans from around the city. This one brings together more than 40 local vendors in one spot, so you can knock out your grocery run and your weekend browsing in a single trip.
On the food side, you'll find baked goods, fresh organic vegetables, local meats, and plenty of gluten-free and vegan options, with hot foods and coffees ready to go. The artisan side covers handmade apparel, jewelry, art and home goods, fresh flowers and plants, and even dog products. A core group of regular vendors anchors the stalls, but new ones join in regularly, so the variety changes from week to week. It runs rain or shine, so it's a reliable Saturday morning regardless of the weather.

Logistically, it's easy to find: the market is in the Juliet Kitchen parking lot at The Arboretum, 10000 Research Blvd, right at the intersection of Great Hills Trail and Jollyville Road off 183. Admission is free, and since it's an outdoor market, you can drift in and out at your own pace. It runs every Saturday, from 10 AM to 2 PM during summer hours, and 11 AM to 3 PM the rest of the year.
