Teresa Lozano Long Community Day

The Long Center is hosting Community Day on Saturday, September 19, starting at 12 PM. It's their annual free celebration, part block party and part arts fest, and it's open to all ages across the center's indoor and outdoor spaces. The day is named for co-founder Dr. Teresa Lozano Long, and the whole thing is built around her vision of making the arts accessible to everyone.

It's a big mix of performing arts groups, service organizations, food trucks, and neighbors. The lineup usually pulls from across the city: Ballet Austin brings Rhythm on Stage, and you'll find the Musicians of the Austin Symphony and Austin Opera Resident Stars performing. Out on the terrace, there's BubblePalooza, and inside there's Family Yoga with ATX Yoga Girl, a KIDosky Family Zone by Creative Action, and Los Papis Zumba. There's also a Partner Showcase, so you'll see a good cross-section of the local arts community in one spot.

If you're a member, there's a pre-bash Jazz Brunch and early entry. An RSVP is appreciated, but you don't need one to show up. Parking is at the Palmer Events Center Parking Garage, 900 Barton Springs Road, which is just a short walk from the venue. The whole thing is free, and it kicks off at 12 PM on Saturday, September 19.
