Takuya Nakamura performs live with Flobama at the 29th Street Ballroom as part of the LEVITATION festival.
Takuya Nakamura plays 29th Street Ballroom on Saturday, September 12, with Flobama joining him. It's a late one, starting at 11 PM, and it falls on the third night of LEVITATION, the festival that returns to Austin from September 10 to 13.
If you're not familiar with the festival, it's a four-day weekend of music and art spread across the city's Red River District, East Side venues, and beyond. Over the last decade, LEVITATION has built its reputation on lineups that pull from psych, dream pop, punk, indie, metal, darkwave, and electronic music, usually paired with vintage gear, immersive light shows, and visuals. The multi-venue format is a big part of it: you're encouraged to choose your own adventure rather than follow a single stage, so you can bounce between rooms and build your own night. The 2026 edition is billed as an eclectic, genre-spanning showcase of independent music and art, and there's still a secret Sunday headliner to be announced.

Nakamura's set at the ballroom is one of the many pieces of that puzzle. Flobama will be on the bill with him, and since it's part of the larger festival, you'll find other shows happening around the city that same weekend if you're looking to make a full event of it. The 29th Street Ballroom is at 2906 Fruth St, Austin, TX 78705. The show starts at 11 PM on Saturday, September 12.
