A rare solo set from Steve Austin of Today Is The Day, joined by Ramblin' Ricky Tate and Cooper Moon.
Steve Austin plays The Lost Well on Tuesday, September 29, with Ramblin' Ricky Tate and Cooper Moon joining him. The night is billed as a rare solo set from Austin, the frontman of the band Today Is The Day, and it's presented by Section 8 Presents.
If you know Today Is The Day, you know the sound is a far cry from what you'll hear here. That's a full-band project, and this is Steve Austin on his own. It's not often he steps out from behind the band for a solo bill, so this is one of those nights that doesn't come around frequently.
Sharing the stage are Ramblin' Ricky Tate and Cooper Moon. Tate is a Birmingham-based folk punk and country blues singer-songwriter, and he's known for raw southern gothic recordings. That description—folk punk, country blues, southern gothic—gives you a good sense of where he sits: somewhere between a dusty porch and a dive bar, with a bit of a dark edge to it. Cooper Moon rounds out the lineup.
